M&S shoppers can now get more for their money as the supermarket has slashed over 400 prices.
Prices have been cut by at least 10 per cent or more compared to this time last year across a range of everyday essentials.
M&S says it’s cut more than 400 prices across its food range
In the run-up to Easter, this includes 20 per cent more chocolate eggs being priced at £5 or under.
For example, the posh supermarket’s Thomas the Tank Engine egg was £7 last year but it is now £5 this year – a 29 per cent cut.
Booze prices have also fallen with the supermarket’s Limestone Coast Sauvignon dropping from £10 to £7 – a 30 per cent cut – and its Pichi Richi Shiraz falling from £7.50 to £6 – a 20 per cent cut.
Other price drops include a five-pack of roast chicken thighs falling from £3 to £2.50 (a 16 per cent cut) and a 2.5kg bag of Maris Piper potatoes dropping from £2.50 to £2 (a 20 per cent cut).

Ready-made Yorkshire puddings have been cut from £2 to £1.20 (a 40 per cent drop) and a jar of bolognese sauce is now £1.50 down from £2.50 (also a 40 per cent drop).
M&S has also slashed the price of its woodfired pizzas from £6 to £5 – a 16 per cent drop.
Of course, M&S still isn’t the cheapest supermarket out there.
Asda, for example, sells six chicken thighs for a cheaper £2.18 and a 2kg bag of Maris Pipers for £1.25 – although M&S’s bolognese sauce is now cheaper than Dolmio at most supermarkets.
But to make sure you’re getting the best deals, always compare prices before you shop. An online tool, such as MySupermarket, is a good way to do this – although it doesn’t cover M&S.
Stuart Machin, managing director, M&S Food said: “We’re in the early stages of our transformation plan to broaden the appeal of our food to family age customers and make M&S more relevant, more often.
“As part of this, we have been investing in price to deliver even better every day value, whilst protecting the quality our customers love.
“You can see this shift in our current marketing campaign – M&S is no longer positioning itself as special and different; but special and relevant, with prices to shout about.”
