Establish Your Online Credibility!
In the online Traffic Generation world, CREDIBILITY is the deciding factor as to who survives and who does not.
For example when you decide to shop for a book online, you have two choices. The first choice is Amazon, and the second choice is from a website that you and your friends have never heard.
As a matter of fact you may notice that the price for the book on the second website is $ 1 cheaper than the Amazon listing.
Which option do you choose?
Of course, the site displaying the book at a $ 1 cheaper price greatly entices you, but you have never heard of this particular site, and as a matter of fact, you notice that the ordering page does not use any type of security measures. You also notice that there exists only one option for delivery.
If you've experienced the pain of an online resource that lacks credibility, (while you unfortunately tried to track your package, only to have it arrive 2 weeks later than you expected) all to save $ 1, you'll understand how I ' Ve felt.
If you've used Amazon in the past and you were a satisfied customer, all of a sudden the Amazon option might seem tremendously more appealing. Why?
High profile sites like Amazon.com milk their credibility factor for what it's worth. It's taken Amazon several years and millions of investment dollars to attain this large amount of credibility and brand. As they continue to provide high quality service, they will continue to benefit from their credibility and brand name for years to come,
OK that sounds great, but let's forget about Amazon.com for now. Let's talk about you. Maybe you have no inclation to spend several years and millions of dollars to attain the level of credibility of Amazon.com. Believe me, I could not agree with you more. So guess what?
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO!
You DO NOT have to invest the tremendous amount of time and money similar to Amazon.com!
But you CAN still achieve a TREMENDOUS amount of credibility in your niche market by using the technique called Article Marketing.
When it comes to getting a tremendous amount of high quality targeted traffic FOR FREE, Article Marketing is hands-down one of the most powerful strategies to use.
Writing articles and getting your articles posted in popular online article directories is the basic strategy here, and it does WONDERS for your credibility.
What an article is (and is not)
You have a website. You want traffic. Therefore, you need articles.
If someone says the word "article" to you, you might think of stories in magazines and newspapers. Without, of course, you're a serial grammarian, in which case you may picture a series of short words: a, an, the, and so on. In the interests of avoiding confusion (and assuaging the serial grammarians), all references to "articles" in this book should be assumed to mean this:
Article: A relatively short, informative piece of writing that conveys an idea or concept in a useful, interesting and / or entertaining manner.
Now, take a good look at that definition. There are several key words to help you determine what an article is. The word "informative" is perhaps the most important. Good articles Let the reader walk away (or click away, as the case may be) knowing something they did not know before. People read articles expecting to either learn something or be entertained-preferably both.
What about the term "relatively short"? Articles can vary in length, from a few paragraphs to several pages. The length of an article should depend on the information you're trying to convey. For example, "How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich" would be reliably shorter than "The Basic Operating Principles of Fission Reactors."
The last part of the definition is to help you understand what an article is not. This is a critical concept for anyone using articles to increase website traffic and sales, and it's one many webmasters fail to forgive: articles are not advertisements.
No one wants to read a three-page ego-stroke about how great your product or book is, or why dozens of people in your hometown are raving about you. These types of "articles" will not be circulated or read, and can actually decrease your website traffic when word starts spreading that your site is nothing but a bunch of advertising hype.
Although your ultimate goal in generating articles for your website is to increase sales, using articles to spell out your goal in plain (buy my stuff!) Is a good way to make sure you never reach it. Believe it or not, subtlety still has a place in Internet marketing. By providing people with quality articles at no cost to them, you will reach a far greater audience-and convert more visitors to buyers.
Articles, Content, Visibility … Sales!
Now that you know what articles are, let's talk about why you need them.
Ask any successful 'netpreneur' the secret to drumming up website traffic and reference repeat visitors, and you're actually guaranteed to receive a one-word answer: content. That's CON-tent (the "meat" that gives substance to whatever is being referenced, whether it's words on a website or cotton in a stuffed bear), not con-TENT (sublime happiness, often realized through sufficient quantities of money-though that's Not necessarily a bad thing, either).
Articles are content. They are the meat of your website; Providing substance and value to both visitors and search engines. A website without articles is like a headline about alien babies on the cover of a tabloid magazine: easy to ignore. There is nothing to interesting visitors in staying or coming back, and nothing to appease the search engine spiders into indexing your pages somewhere above the millions rank.
Once your website has content, you're on the road to visibility. By offering your visitors something of value, you not only increase the chance that they'll come back, but also that they will tell friends about your site. Also, search engines give more weight to websites with content as well as those that are frequently updated.
Face it: there are millions of websites out there in cyberspace. You need visibility to get visitors. And the more visitors you have, the more sales you'll make.
Before you start loading your website with articles and sit back to watch the money roll in, you should understand that there are right ways and wrong ways to generate and use website content. I will explain the basics of article marketing and help you make the most of this powerful internet tool.
How to Write Your First Article in 3 Minutes!
If you are an avid writer, then writing an article about something that interests you is going to be a piece of cake. However if you're like most of us (who have not written any type of 'essay-like' article in years), writing may scare you to death!
I actually felt the same way until I took the advice of one of my article writing resources pointing to simply think of a topic that interests you and just sit down and write or type about it. Pretend someone you cared about asked you to tell them about your topic. What would you say?
The good news is that article directories do not look for perfect college level thesis-quality writing, actually quite the opposite.
What they want is actual useful content that answers a pressing question or solves a problem. I discovered a long time ago, that believe it or not, there lies a whole thick book in every single one of us just waiting to be written!
So writing a single page on a topic of interest should not be a big deal to any of us. Again, all you do is answer a basic question or solve a problem.
If someone were to ask you to tell them about one of your favorite pastimes, most people could talk about that topic for hours! Which leads me to a technique that I've used to write a lot of articles effortlessly.
Did you know that if you were to read aloud an average 500 word article (which is the standard length for most online article directories), it would take you an average of 3 minutes?
So here's the question to ask yourself …. think of a topic that GREATLY interests you, and simply talk about it for 3 minutes.
If you recorded yourself talking, then you transcribed the recording into actual words, you would most likely have MORE than 500 words for your article!
I've noticed that I would strike out to write one article for a particular day, and after transcribing it onto a word document and simply doing a word count, it would result in about 700 to even 1000 words! This is because I recorded myself talking about the topic for 5-7 minutes!
So then what I would do is simply break up that article into TWO SEPARATE ARTICLES !!
Two for the price of one! Not too shabby!
How many articles should your write?
The best way to get the most exposure and credibility to your website and your own personal name reputation is to have as many articles on articles directories as possible!
Here's the reason: As more people read your article and include it as content for their specific purposes, your exposure grows and grows and grows – similar to planting seeds in the ground. In a very short period of time, those seeds sprout into beautiful plants and flowers!
The same concept applies to your articles. As a matter of fact it's a good idea to think of your articles as little 'seeds' that will grow your 'reputation' and 'web popularityity'. So it's safe to say that the more 'seeds' or articles that you 'plant' or submit, the more of an abundant exposure that your business will experience on the web.
One of my closest mentors told me he wrote several hundred articles on the topic of making money, and as a result he noticed his business skyrocket in just a short few months!
Try to write at least 2 articles a week on things that you have learned. Do this for the next 2-3 months, then distribute your articles aggressively to online article directories. As you start building your reputation and other people start including your articles in their online publications as well, you'll soon see your traffic and sales increase drastically!
Quick Summary of the Important Benefits of Submitting Articles Online!
O As mentioned above articles give you CREDIBILITY or EXPERT STATUS. This is KEY in helping you stand out above the rest when it comes to internet marketing. If for some reason you do not feel like an 'expert', guess what? You do not have to!
As you get in the process of writing more and more articles, in time you will actually find yourself feeling more and more like an expert. Just think of your friends and family who HAVE NO IDEA about what you know about internet marketing. Simply imagine teaching them!
O If you already have a blog, you could maximize your existing posts by submitting them to article directories. Your longer posts can serve as multiple articles that you can submit to different article directories and ezine publications.
When you connect the power of a blog with writing articles, you have a much greater chance of getting noticed by the big search engines – if that's not a reason in itself for submitting articles, I do not know what is!
O Increasing your LINK POPULARITY is covered in detail in the Search Engine Optimization section. But in a nutshell, think of each article that you write as an extra 'doorway' to drive more traffic to your site. The more articles you write, the greater the number of 'doorways' you have to drastically increase your Link Popularity.
Subsequently when your Link Popularity increases, you'll find your website starting to rank higher and higher in the search engines, you may even work your way to the top spots!
Once that occurs for a frequently searched keyword or key phrase, you're golden. You will probably have the GREATEST problem any internet marketer aspires to face: TOO MUCH TARGETED TRAFFIC!
Of course HUGE AMOUNTS OF TARGETED TRAFFIC = MORE $$$ FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
In addition, at the bottom of ALL of your articles you'll always include your signature file with your name and website address link. Every time someone reads your articles then clicks on your links, you just created another pathway of link exposure to your website.
O Remember when you submit articles to article directories, your articles do not get displayed for a short time and then deleted. Instead, what occurs is that your articles actually get stored in the article directory's database for a certain period of time.
Because your articles are 'parked' in the article directory, the search engine spiders will come across your articles every so often. The more articles you have, the more quality content credibility that gets 'attached' to your name. Of course the more credential you build for your business, the more targeted traffic you'll acquire to your website.
Your Action Step for driving massive amounts of targeted traffic to your website using article marketing!
Take out a sheet of paper and brainstorm as many topics as you can that relate to your product or service. Take that list and break down each topic into subtopics.
